Asset managers filed a fresh batch of applications for Solana-based exchange-traded funds this week, adding to a growing queue of proposals awaiting regulatory review.
The filings mark a notable expansion of institutional crypto products beyond Bitcoin and Ethereum. Analysts estimate that approved altcoin ETFs could unlock billions in new demand from registered investment advisers who cannot buy tokens directly.
“The playbook is proven,” one ETF analyst said. “Bitcoin ETFs broke every launch record in history. Issuers want to replicate that success with the next tier of assets.” Regulatory decisions on the first applications are expected in the coming months.
